Renovation of a cottage for family living
The project transforms what was originally a fragmented house with ill-suited additions into a compact whole designed for the needs of a single family. By removing later alterations and reorganizing the layout, the building’s original character and logic have been restored.
The main living space on the ground floor flows seamlessly into the garden, while the upper floor features a quiet zone with bedrooms opening up to the roof trusses. A new addition facing the garden provides the necessary amenities while respecting the original structure of the house.
The material palette draws on traditional architecture—a light-colored façade, wooden elements, and a dark roof complement the exposed concrete features. The project also includes exterior modifications that enhance the approach and the house’s overall integration into the landscape.
