A modern transit hub as a new gateway to the city
The competition proposal addresses the transformation of the existing transportation hub into a well-organized and modern urban mobility hub. The new design integrates rail, bus, and public transit into a single compact complex, improving passenger navigation and comfort. A striking feature of the design is the new tower, which serves as a landmark and naturally complements the city skyline.
The design is based on the principle of connectivity—not only in terms of transportation but also urban planning. The terminal opens up to the city through pedestrian paths, a new park, and high-quality public spaces. The plan also includes the addition of community amenities, parking, and new developments, which together create a vibrant and functional urban neighborhood.
The focus is on sustainability, clarity, and everyday user comfort. The result is a space that combines transportation with leisure, simplifies getting around the city, and brings a new quality of public space to Liberec.
