ABOUT US

We are an independent design office based in Liberec. In our work we emphasize quality craftsmanship and strive for a timeless aesthetic quality that is not subject to the caprices of fashion. We understand that a reasonable level of participation with clients is a prerequisite for good work.

ATELIER ŽELEZNÁ was founded in Spring 2018 by Ondřej Pleštil as a direct continuation of his own project work.

Ing.arch. Ondřej Pleštil, Ph.D., ČKA 4413

He finished his Architecture degree at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture of the Technical University of Liberec in 2009 before receiving a doctorate at the FA CTU in Prague. He spent his internship in Berlin at the studio of the Israeli architect Zvi Hecker, at the Prague K2 Atelier and in the carpentry of Petr Růžička. Since 2011 he has worked independently in Liberec.

MgA. Marie Eliášová

She studied architecture at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Jindřich Smetana and later Jan Šépka. During her studies she had a six-month study placement at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen and a one-year internship at the X-architekten design office in Vienna. After completing her studies at  the Prague Academy of Fine Arts, she returned to her native Liberec, where she has worked with Ondřej Pleštil since 2017.

Bc. Kateřina Rissová

She studied for four years at the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague in the studios of Ing. arch. Josef Mádr and doc. Ing. arch. Hana Seho. During her studies she took part in an international project with the Swiss architect prof. Pierre von Meisse and the Schody (Stairs) implementation workshop. She has worked with the Scout Institute in Prague as a graphic designer. She is currently studying to be a Master of Arts at the Faculty of Art and Architecture in Liberec, working in the studio and helping with the Varšava Cinema.

Ing. arch. Jiří Macháček

After graduating from the Industrial Building School in Liberec, he studied Architecture at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec. He did his bachelor work in the studio of Prof. Ing. Akad. arch. Jiří Suchomel. Now he is continuing his studies for a master’s degree. In addition to his architectural activities, he is also interested in marketing, graphics and the technical furnishing of buildings.
